March 22. We meet every 4th Thursday at 12:30 for lunch at the Red Apple. No need to call anyone – just show up. If you have any questions, please contact Pat Schmitt at 847-398-3124.
Join us for another fun morning of knitting, crocheting and chatting for the community. Crafters of all skill levels are welcome as we make scarves for those who might need them. We have some knitting needles and crochet hooks, as well as yarn, but if you have your own, please bring them!
On this night we hear Jesus give a new commandment: Love one another. We gather for worship at 7pm to hear this commandment, to remember how Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and to feel the water on our own feet as we are sent out to serve (foot washing optional!), and to gather at the table of grace and forgiveness. This worship begins the Triduum, or the Great Three Days, and the services of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday…
Join us for a special sharing of the Easter story on Friday morning at 10:00. This interactive time brings kids and adults alike through the whole story from Palm Sunday to Easter Morning, telling the story with props, song, and movement. Worship includes a craft and simple snack. All ages are welcome to gather for worship.
On Good Friday we remember that our Savior, Jesus Christ, was crucified. During worship we read the account of the crucifixion and spend time in prayer, song, reflection, and reverence of the cross. Join us for this solemn service; we gather and depart in silence.
The Easter Vigil takes place Saturday night; weather permitting, we begin outdoors, lighting the Christ candle with new flame and bringing the light of Christ into the worship space. We hear many of the stories upon which our faith is built — the ancient stories of creation, God’s faithfulness through the ages, and ultimately the greatest gift of resurrection and life. Worship lasts about 90 minutes, and we gather for festive fellowship after we have finally proclaimed the “Alleluia! Christ…
Join us as we proclaim, “Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen, indeed! Alleluia!” We’ll raise the Alleluias that have been silent during the season of Lent, and rejoice as Christ has won the victory over death and the grave. We will have worship with Holy Communion at 8:30 and 11:00. A continental breakfast will be served between services at 9:45 in the Gathering Space. All are welcome.
