SUMMARY:Concert to Expand the Food Pantry
DESCRIPTION:Join us at All Saints Lutheran Church at 7PM on Thursday\, May 26\, for a concert benefiting the upcoming expansion of the All Saints Food Pantry. Performed by All Saints Cantor Douglas S. Williams\, the program will feature a number of selections on organ and piano celebrating the Ascension of Jesus\, including works by Johann Gottfr. Walther\, Joseph M. Martin\, Gwyneth Walker\, and a special presentation of Jabberwocky! for piano by John Carter.\n\nA suggested donation of $20 per adult will be requested to help fund the expansion of the All Saints Food Pantry. The pantry has recently received approval to remodel its space in the Community Resource Center to allow it to serve even more families in need. This expansion will increase storage capacity\, create a larger shopping area\, and allow for a greater diversity of items distributed. The pantry currently serves over 200 families every week. Thanks to Thrivent for their support with an Action Team.  We will use it to supply the pantry with sealable bags for rice and produce bags.\n\nIf you cannot attend but wish to support this endeavor\, donations can be made online at https://allsaintspalatine.org/donate/ Donations of non-perishable food can also be received at the concert. The short version: We will worship God together\, we will do our best to keep our community safe\, we will be patient with one another\, and our worship models will change as the weeks go on. DESCRIPTION:Our next drive-in communion service will be Saturday\, June 19 at 4 p.m. \nBegin arriving at 3:45 so the ushers have time to prepare the parking lot. Follow usher directions to park and stay in your car. You’ll hear on your FM radio a brief liturgy of confession\, scripture and prayer as we prepare to receive Holy Communion. Then you’ll drive up to receive Communion from the pastors just outside the church door\, all following the usher directions. We encourage you to bring your own elements (bread of any kind and grape juice) or we will have pre-packaged elements available. You will have the opportunity to leave your offering.
